How It All Started
Chris and Al have always been up to something in their lifelong clubhouse located in an old barn nestled in the Chicago suburbs. In late 2011 they came up with the idea of maybe doing something productive with the space. Both Al and Chris had been looking to pick up a new hobby. Little did they know that that hobby would turn into Chicago Salvage Works.
They quickly found themselves scouring craiglist for reclaimed materials and contacting the local steel suppliers for pricing on raw materials and they soon had their first couple of products, a coffee table and a dining table. As time passes they have expanded their line of products to include wine racks, end tables, complex kitchen islands and an assortment of other home goods. They have acquired the skills and ambition to tackle a wide range of custom pieces while maintaining efficiency that is on par with major woodworking and metal shops.
